Preparing Your Rental Yard for the Spring Season

Written by MTA Distributors | 3/12/24 6:08 PM

The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer, and people are starting to plan their spring and summer projects. That means it's time get your rental yard ready for the busy season ahead. Here are some tips to help you prepare:

1. Service your equipment

Go through all your rental equipment - mowers, tillers, chainsaws, etc. - and make sure they are cleaned, lubricated, and in good working order. Tune up engines, sharpen blades, check belts and hoses. Well-maintained equipment will be more appealing to renters. You can utilize MTA’s Parts Breakdown to find and order any parts you need to service your equipment, and the technical support team is available to answer any questions you may have.

2. Organize the yard

After the winter, things may have gotten a bit disorganized. Straighten up shelves, sweep out sheds, and group similar items together. A tidy, organized rental yard and store will make it easier for you and customers to find what is needed.

3. Update inventory

Check your current rental stock and order any items you need from MTA Distributors. We carry over 200 top brands of rental equipment including pressure washers, concrete equipment, specialty mowers, trimmers, and outdoor tools. Having enough inventory on hand will ensure you can meet customer demand.

4. Promote early-season rentals.

Remind customers that you rent tillers, power rakes, aerators, and other equipment useful for lawn and garden prep. Promote these items in your store and online.

5. Hire seasonal staff.

Additional associates on hand will help provide top-notch customer service during the busy months. Hold your interviews and get new hires trained before the rush hits.

Following these key tips will help ensure your rental yard is fully stocked and ready for the spring rush. Contact MTA Distributors today to place orders for the latest rental equipment paired with the best financing terms in the industry. Here's to a successful spring season!
